Window Shopping Report
My obsession with online window shopping, your chance for cool deals and steals
Its labor day, and that means this summer’s stock is on deep sale along side the first opportunities to grab fall gear on a discount. Plus a bunch of find from my endless ebay searches:
Contemporary Garms, I’d Love to Buy but Won’t
Your run of the mill deals on brands I like!
Retro Beams Plus Polo - via Canoe Club. A fun option to look cool at work.
EG White Flannel Work Shirt - via Canoe Club. I love a white shirt in every material, and I love EG work shirts.
Howling Terry Cloth Shirt - via Independence. I spent all summer looking for another short sleeve camp collar to wear to outdoor bars and restaurants. Terry Cloth is cool! the polo version's also there too!
Wythe Tencel Pearl Snap - via Wythe. Buy the shirt! Its 30% off! They’re good! I love em! Size up, they shrink in the wash! Just a ton of fun and will make you wanna buy the very on trend ribbed tank and go sleaze mode.
Things I Actually Bought
Despite saving a bunch of really cool things over the last few weeks and committing to not wearing the same things over and over again, I bought more stuff that fit gaps in my wardrobe and could be worn to work.
Classic Fit Chinos - via J Crew. They’re chinos. Not that exciting. But I needed a new pair and the straight leg fit and 100% cotton not stretch twill is nice. Nice pick up for a on trend pair o’ slacks.
Cotton Tennis Sweater - via J Crew. I fuck with this sweater. As someone who spent forever trying to ebay their way into a vintage Polo or Lacoste or Brooks Bros tennis sweater and eventually settled for a fine (blue and black????) color way on a vintage polo one for like $100, its sick to be able to walk into a store and snag a sweet blue and green version and get the fit right. I went TTS, in medium (I’ve alwasy considered myself a M and would call an L sizing up).
Flap Pocket Oxford - via J Press. Still the best OCBD. They’re always there and the price never changes, so I always put off buying more. On sale for $115 (whopping $20 saving) but never go on sale and was the push I needed to grab one in yellow.
Regimental Stripe Rugby - via Rowing Blazers. RB is corny. But unfortunately they make the a rugby in my favorite stripe pattern. And it dips below $75 with the code after hovering around $200 typically and therefore I had to buy it. As a commitment to my continued belief RB is corny, I will never tag this rugby and will answer no ID questions about it.
Ebay Watchlist Clear Out
Vintage Woolrich Hunting Sweater - I am begging someone to buy this sweater thats too small for me. So perfectly on trend and insanely good price. Look at that guy, he and his little buddy are hunting! I am kinda iffy on the “wearing a gun” aspect, but its so god damn adorable I’ll give it a pass.
Vintage Polo Patchwork (?) Sweater - Stupid expensive, but so cool. This is clearly the inspo for the ALD sweater that’ll be out this fall. Polo country goes so hard. Would look incredibly sick with a pair of white double knees and some leather sneakers.
Vintage Polo Embroidered Cords - More vintage Polo? More duck hunting theme? More items that ALD used as inspo for this season? Starting to sense a pattern here… Finding a good pair of embroidered chinos is hard. A lot are waaaayyyyy too nautical (crabs, lobsters, lighthouses), some made weird choices on the motif (canoes? why?), and far too many are uninteresting motifs (crests?). I have narrowed the ideal motif down to hunting dogs, ducks, trees and limited guns. These are also pretty good: Vintage 'Lo, more polo, Vintage J Crew,
Vintage Bulls '96 Championship Shirt - Cool shirt, wish I was a Bulls fan! Same deal, wish I were a Lakers fan! Finally, I wish to god I was a small cause this rules so hard: ‘92 dream team.
